You should not be inviting visitors and guests to BNI… why? download
Because instead of INVITING, you should be CONNECTING!

One of my favorite techniques I use to bring Visitors to BNI is the opportunity to create a “connection”.

When I am networking, one of the questions that I like to ask the person I am speaking to is:
“What professions do you find are able to easily pass you referrals?”
I am listening for the person to mention several professions that can easily referral them.

Once I have that list (in my head), I am able to reply:
“I actually know an amazing butcher, baker and candlestick maker! I will be seeing them next Thursday. Would you be open to meeting me at 7:15 at _____ so I can create a face to face introduction of those three amazing professionals to you?”
The hope is the answer will be yes. Then, I follow up with:
“Perfect! I look forward to creating those introductions for you. I did want to let you know, if you are available, we will be meeting after that, from 7:30 till 9:30, and I would be happy to have you as my guest, as there will be 50 people that I can introduce you to as well.”

In my years using this technique, I have only had a single person say YES to the introduction and NO to the meeting.
Instead of inviting people to visit BNI, create the CONNECTION!
