This is going to be my last entry for this current series of Monday’s Most Wanted. While in the previous five blogs on my favorite apps, I have focused on a single app, perhaps ones that everyone does not have or heard of. |
Today, I just wanted to quickly share the ones that I think that most everyone already have.
Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter all allow me to keep up with social media going on while I am out and about!
Foursquare is a great app, and again, I use Foursquare most often as a tool to check in via Twitter and/or Facebook. While I used to be an avid user, my recent activity has been less than stellar. I do like the new opportunity you have when you check in that you can block it so that it cannot be seen, even by your friends. Had it been an option two months or even a month ago, I might still be a devoted user.
Kindle has a great free app that allows me to read books on my iPhone!
While I don’t read books on my phone all that often, it is great to have a few options when I’m bored with other apps, or I just want to escape for a few minutes into a quick book.
I look through the free books free books online on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/digital-text/154606011
When I find a book that looks good and is under one hundred pages, I can send it to my iPhone, storing it for me for when a quick read is needed.
Also, with books, I like Audible, it’s great to be able to use my iPhone to listen to audio books. My hope in the future is I can get more business books, and listen to them, expanding my mind utilizing all that time I’m in the car!
I do have apps, radar, traffic; I use them infrequently, so that’s all the mention that they get!
It is amazing the power in teeny tiny devices that are smart phones.
What did I ever do before when sitting at a red light?
Now I have access the world wide web at any time – it helps keep me entertained, and connected.
What’s one of your favorite apps that I missed during the past six weeks?
