Just this week I was visiting a BNI Chapter here in Tampa (Movers & Shakers) and I heard an intromercial by Brad Gray. The gist of the message he shared was that Rudolph was an amazing marketer – and it got me thinking.
Here is Rudolph, with his abnormal nose…  no one wanted to play with him, they tried to hide it.
He was an outcast!
But, who is the most famous reindeer of all (are you starting to hear the song in your head now?) It was Rudolph! Because he was different!
Rudolph utilized what he had and marketed himself to Santa Clause as the reindeer who could save Christmas. Okay, give me a little leeway here…  I know the claymation story, but I have a feeling Rudolph was a go-getter and MADE things happen, including having Santa realize that Christmas would not happen without him!
The song & movie show Rudolph as being lucky, but I have found, in life, being creative & persistent is much more effective!

Which Rudolph are you going to be in 2012?
The one that was “bright” – being he had a nose that glowed and got lucky that Santa saw him at the right time & place
OR
The one the was “brilliant” – created a plan, and created the right circumstances to be seen by the right person at the right time?

Share! Which will you be, and what will you do to make it happen in 2012?
